Northern Garmi
We were founded as a variable capital corporation in November 1995. The main objective of the creation of this new company was to provide technical support to the foundries in northern Mexico that used resins and general chemical products from Borden Chemical Inc., a company represented by GARMI at that time.
GARMI
Over time, the product line expanded, as did the needs and demands of the companies to which GARMI provided technological support services for the application and logistics of the products they consumed from Borden Chemical. These new demands led GARMI to become a direct distributor of Borden Chemical products, today HA International LLC, and to expand its product line with American companies that manufacture furnaces, refractories and parts for the aluminum foundry industry.
Years later, in the late 1990s, GARMI began a third stage of growth by importing and distributing sand and ceramic proppants for the oil industry, specifically for the production of natural gas in Mexico. Today, GARMI already has a transfer plant for products used in the oil field, where railroad cars are unloaded on a 1.7 km long spur. We have the capacity to store 8 million pounds of proppants and more than 1,100 tons of resin and chemicals. The same plant has a testing laboratory for the products that are distributed. GARMI also participates with the RUGA transportation company, with whom together they have the capacity to move the products to the gas production wells where they are used.
Foundry & Chemistry
In the foundry area, GARMI has specialized to the point of having resin supply programs under the “Outsourcing” concept, where inventories, transportation and deliveries are completely managed by GARMI, allowing foundries to save on costs and simplify their administrative work. As in the area of sand proppants for the oil industry, GARMI, Foundry division, currently has the necessary facilities to store and/or transfer material for the foundry, all of this depending on the transportation and/or storage system required. In addition, it participates with RUGA to transport these products to where they are required by our clients.
